With views over Oban Bay and the beautiful islands beyond, the house has a remarkable setting and a unique charm. We’re longstanding members of the local community, and we’re proud to serve the people here. From the first moment you step inside, you’ll feel a warmth, a personality, and a special sense of family that you just won’t find in any other care home.
The house itself is a traditional Victorian villa, with big, bright, airy rooms and handsome ornate details, but it comes equipped with all the modern amenities you could ask for. It is accessible, secure, and provides fresh, homecooked meals morning, noon, and night.
Whatever funding it requires to be here, is spent on residents’ wellbeing. We only ever put their needs first, and their dignity and independence are of the utmost importance to us. We do everything we can to ensure they live the life they want and enjoy the things they love.
We are run by an independent, locally based, not-for-profit charity, which is fully registered with OSCR and the Care Inspectorate. Our organisation is overseen by a board of volunteer trustee directors, who are drawn from the local community.

On 25th February 1947, Oban Townswomen’s Guild members called the inaugural public meeting at which it was agreed to provide an eventide home for North Argyll as a home for retirees from fishing boats, farms and tithed jobs.
As a result of their inspiration and endeavours - and the efforts and generosity of many other individuals and organisations - the home was officially opened on 20th January 1955.
